A Power Engineering Certificate to Supercharge Your Career

The Electrical and Computer Engineering department at UConn School of Engineering has created a series of courses as part of an advanced certificate program in Power Engineering. Please note that the courses for the Power Engineering certificate are not scheduled to be offered in Fall 2018.  Based on the aggregate demand, the courses may be offered in Spring 2019.  For future interest, please check directly with the UConn School of Engineering Professional Education (PE) office via email at soeprofed@uconn.edu .

This certificate program provides the necessary knowledge at an advanced level to engage in the analysis and design of power systems.

This advanced certificate program in power engineering will allow you to:

  • Model major components used in the generation and distribution of power
  • Analyze the systems and methods used for the monitoring and protection of power systems
  • Use appropriate tools and techniques  for the planning and design of power systems
  • Choose suitable devices for integrating various power sources into a grid

All students apply and are admitted to the UConn Graduate School. Credits earned within the certificate can be applied towards a Master of Engineering (MENG).
